First Friday Eucharistic Adoration & Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
February 5, 2021 - OMC Church
Adoration: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM - 5:00 PM Livestream - Click HERE
Evening Prayer & Benediction: 5:30 PM Livestream - Click HERE
First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus are related to devotional practices that date back to the 17th century when Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque VHM, and spoke to her of His Sacred Heart. Several promises were made to those who practice the First Fridays Devotions, one of which includes final perseverance. Devotion to the Sacred Heart, as given to St. Margaret Mary (The Apostle of the Devotion to the Sacred Heart), began to grow in popularity soon after she died, but was officially recognized 75 years later. An important part of the First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart is the Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As part of our Salesian tradition, each Oblate consecrates himself, and our community, to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the First Friday of the Month. As part of our Salesian Family, we invite you to join as a Parish in consecrating yourself, your family, and our Parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and come for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church. Click HERE for the prayer of consecration.

Distribution of Ashes. Ash Wednesday ( February 17): The distribution of ashes in time of pandemic, will take place at the end of Mass as described by Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, on January 12, 2021. The Priest says the prayer of blessing for the ashes as usual and then then addresses all those present only once with the formula given in the Roman Missal. He then sprinkles some of the blessed ashes on the top of the head of those who approach him without saying anything. This manner of distribution is the typical form in many parts of the world but not in the United States.
Mass with the Distribution of Ashes - 7:00 AM and 12:10 PM
Word Service with Distribution of Ashes - 7:00 PM

OMC Climate Ministry: It’s tempting to start the new year with lists and lists of what we want to accomplish. But Pope Francis has only one goal for us this year: create a culture of care. Such a culture would overcome “indifference, waste and confrontation,” and help all of us deepen our ecological conversion. Below you’ll find two ways to get started on that goal this month by coming together with Catholics around the globe and helping create a world full of “fraternity and solidarity, of mutual support and acceptance.”
- Lent 2021: A Journey of Hope: Join Laudato Si’ Lent today to receive weekly reminders and ideas about how you can live this journey of ecological conversion with this movement, including opportunities to connect through retreats, webinars, and prayer services. Each week will feature a “mini-fast” challenge that will help all of us reduce our ecological footprint and reflect on our relationship with God and all creation. Click HERE to Join
- Monthly Laudato Si Prayer Services: Join in these Global Prayer Services every first Friday of the month to hear creation’s song, creation’s cry, and creation’s invitation. Throughout these prayer services we will have a guest's reflection, scripture reading and prayers of the faithful. We look forward to praying with you. Live interpretation available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. Click HERE to register.
- Season of Creation 2021 webinar - Thursday 21 January: With an eye on the 2021 Season of Creation, Christians worldwide will unite later this month to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Join one of the Vatican’s leading Laudato Si’ experts and high-level Christian leaders as they discuss how the global Christian family can work together to have a home for all. Thursday 21 January - 11:00 New York | 17:00 Rome | 19:00 Nairobi - Watch live on YouTube. Click HERE to RSVP
