What is Walking with Moms in Need? Walking With Moms in Need is a way that parish members can walk alongside local pregnant and parenting women in need and find ways to support them. To do that, we work to connect moms, moms-to-be, and families with each other, and with a range of information sources and services, as well as local pregnancy centers.
Walking with Moms in Need is a nation-wide initiative launched by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). All parishes are encouraged to engage in this ministry. Click HERE for more information about this movement.

MOMS MEET UP is a monthly WWMN gathering at 9 AM on the first Thursday of each month. All Moms are invited to meet at the Fareway, behind the Chestnut Hill Hotel, for mom-to-mom conversation and a cup of your favorite brew. Contact [email protected].

OMC parishioners Colleen and Tim Swift are the coordinators for this ministry, and they monitor the Walking with Moms in Need email at our parish. They have two children and have lived in Chestnut Hill since 2018. Colleen and Tim receive these OMC emails immediately and will do their best to ensure that any requests or correspondence is handled carefully.
What’s new? Walking with Moms in Need at OMC continues to develop new outreach to local moms, including new websites for services on our resource list.

- If you are a mom or know a mom who’d appreciate an outreach, whether it be a meal, a walk or a phone or online conversation, please let us know.
- Come to a meeting. We meet ‘hybrid style’ or on zoom on the first Monday of the month from September to June. Email [email protected] to be added to the invitation list.
- Contribute or join one of our efforts, such as making a meal for a family with a newborn, attending the monthly Holy Hour at St. Malachy’s with the Sisters of Life, helping with an event, or volunteering at the Cenacle in Frankford.
- WWMN Prayer Line Add the name of a mom or family in need to our prayer intentions.
