Reflection for Sunday July 14th by Jake B.
Sunday Gospel: Mk 6:7-13
In the reading, Jesus sends his apostles out in groups of two to preach the word of God. The Apostles went out for the journey with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a walking stick. They preached repentance, drove out demons, and cured many sick people. This reading asks us to consider how we are being called to participate in God’s mission. It challenges us to think about how we help others, and trust in and rely on God, like the Apostles did. This passage reminds us to be an active member in spreading God’s word. I challenge the reader to practice humility like the Apostles in the story and spread God's word. This week's reflection is by Jake, SJP class of 2025 |
