Welcome to our Teen Ministry Page
Overview of Teen MinistryTeen ministry focuses on meeting the spiritual and social needs of teens in 8th-12th grade in order to help them become life long disciples of Jesus within the Catholic Church. Through partnering with parents and adult mentors, teen ministry accompanies the teens of OMC as they grow deeper in their faith. During the school year, weekly events are planned that focus on teaching the faith, encountering God, praying and worshiping, serving our world, and creating community.
Sunday Night Gatherings (Acts 2:42)
Teens are invited to join us on Sunday nights for dinner followed by small group discussion. We alternate between bible studies and topical discussions that focus on Jesus, prayer, Catholic teaching, service, Scripture, discipleship and other areas in which they are interested. Adult mentors are asked to commit to assisting twice a month for the duration of the school year. All volunteers must complete required Archdiocesan Safe Environment certifications. Families are asked to help provide the meal which consists of a rotating menu. Sign up to provide a meal here. |
First Fridays and Special Events
Teens are invited to attend our First Friday adoration, which concludes with evening prayer and benedition at 5:30PM and other special events. Events vary month to month but each one focuses on spiritual, social, or service activities. This year, the events include: Arise evenings of Adorations at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, St. Ambrose, and OMC, Philly Catholic Youth Conference at Immaculata University, Halloween and Christmas Parties, Box of Joy charity event, MLK Service night, Vocations night, Sacred Heart Presentation, and Catholic Youth Rally at Six flags.
Summer Check ins.
Teens are invited to meet with Paul, the youth ministry over the summer to ask questions about the faith, develop the habit of prayer, learn to discern God’s will, and to grow as a disciple of Christ. They can sign up to meet for a conversation and can come with 1-2 friends.
Stay Connected and Get Involved
We ask parents to fill out this Google form. This form enables us to keep parents informed of events and opportunities to volunteer and lets us know that parents are aware of their child's involvement in youth ministry.
If you would like your teen to be able to receive the monthly update of events, please fill out the communication consent form and email it to [email protected] Teens and parents are also invited to follow the instagram page @omcparishteenministry
Parents and adults who would like to share their time, faith, and talent can also fill out the adult volunteer interest form.
Feel free to reach out to Paul Cillo if you have any ideas, questions, or concerns.
