Youth Ministry Monthly Update- June 7th, 2023
Summer is here! During the Summer we will have the schedule below starting June 19th and running through August. There will be a couple weeks off when I am away on retreat and vacation. We will focus a lot of community and service over the summer. While there are a lot of events teens are not expected to come to all or even most of them. I recommend they pick one or two events each week to come to on a regular basis. There are also some opportunities outside the parish which are included below. Lastly, my wife had our son, John Paul on June 1st, he will be at a lot of the teen events over the summer.
Congrats to all of our seniors who have graduated! Recent high school grads are welcome to come to our young adult Bible Study on Wednesdays. Going to college locally? Consider becoming an adult Mentor to help other teens grow as disciples of Christ.

Summer Chaperones Needed
During the school year we have a committed team of 6 adult leaders to lead on Sunday Nights. To avoid burnout, the summer is optional for the leadership team. For the past few years, my wife, Katie, has been helping with the summer events and we were able to have events when other staff were in the parish office. This is no longer the case and I need at least One adult chaperone in order to have the event. Please look at the schedule above and consider signing up to help out once this summer. Wednesday nights and cooking brunch are when I need the most help.
To volunteer you need:
1) PA State Police background check
2) Childline Child Abuse Check
3) FBI Fingerprints.
Other clearances are needed if you would like to assist beyond the summer. Summer schedule and upcoming eventsSunday brunch 10-1pm
Teens can hang out after the 9:00 am or come after the 11. Brunch will be served at 12.
See the PDF above for specific dates or check the Church Calendar.
Wednesday Night Socials 7:00-9:00
On Wednesdays we will gather for a different event every week. No dinner will be provided but we will have snacks proposed activities include:
Summer Spirituality Check ins
In addition to the two events above. Teens are invited to meet for a spirituality check in. These meetings are meant to allow the teens a opportunity to meet t discuss their faith, questions they might have, and their prayer life. They can chose to meet as often as once every two weeks or as little as once during the summer. They can also meet with me individually or with a friend or two. In person or via zoom. Zoom meetings require permission from parents and will be recorded for safe environment.

This summer my Katie (my wife) and I will also be hosting a young adult group in the 1st and third Thursdays of the month in are home. The group will focus on creating community and faith discussions. See the flyer below. Interested adults can email [email protected] for our address.
