OMC Peace & Justice Committee

The Peace and Justice Committee of Our Mother of Consolation parish serves to help deepen our understanding of Catholic social teaching and apply that understanding through opportunities for action, education and grant making.

The committee has three goals

• Education: Provide at least four programs each year that may include guest speakers, videos, information fair or “field trip”.
• Action: Provide opportunities for parish members to be involved in direct service or action related to social justice.
• Grant making: Each year the OMC Peace & Justice Committee invites local organizations to make grant requests to the OMC Peace & Justice Fund. Successful grant requests, ranging from $250 to $2,000, are programs in greater Philadelphia area, which provide support for the following: children, education, the elderly, physical and mental health concerns, homelessness, housing, hunger, individual and family welfare.  ​​ You can get our grant application HERE!
