Dear Parishioners,

It is no secret that the people of the parish make the faith community what it is.  Centering ourselves on Christ, “Nourished by the Word and Eucharist,” parishioners freely respond with the grace given to each one so as to serve others and “to be the presence of Christ in our world.”  Indeed, we are one body, one spirit who collectively share many, different, and varied gifts.  When we put these gifts in the hand of God and in service to one another, we build the Kingdom of God; we live our call and our dignity to be co-creators, and in so doing, we find ourselves enriched to accompany one another on the journey.  Over the years and from a distance, I heard of and saw in action, the work of these ministries listed within this guidebook.  The parish where I ministered before was the recipient of your outreach and generosity so many times.

I am truly blessed to witness this ministry firsthand now.  It is my prayer that you may find a ministry or two in this booklet and learn more at our annual parish ministry fair at the end of October, where you can share your gifts, where you can proffer the mission of OMC, and where you can grow in awareness of the infinite love God has for you and for our faith community. Our children, our church, and we ourselves need a vibrant parish life.  Let us continue to make this happen.  Like Paul in his letter to the Philippians, “I am confident that God, who has begun this good work in you will bring it to fruition” as we accompany each other under the protection of Our Mother of Consolation.
