The Paschal Triduum - April 1-4
Lent ends during the day on Holy Thursday. Triduum means “three days,” and the Paschal Triduum is the three-day season counted sunset to sunset, Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday. During these three days, we keep one festival, one Liturgy, our Passover, our Easter. We join with all the people of our Parish, and in spirit with all Christians, to fast, pray, and keep watch.
Triduum: A Spiritual Pilgrimage is a beautiful, 30 minute contemplative documentary. This film cinematically walks through the locations of the Holy Week story, re-presenting the most important days of human history. Immersed in the real and sacred places of the Holy Land, the pilgrim faithful is brought tangibly nearer to the story, the landscape, and the reality of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Triduum draws Catholics and those with open hearts and minds to experience a deeper understanding of these events and places, and offers rich meditations for the pilgrimage of daily life. Now more than ever, as many of us are confined to our homes, journey along this spiritual pilgrimage and be drawn more deeply into the life and love of God. Triduum: A Spiritual Pilgrimage is the Augustine Institute's gift to the world for Holy Triduum - available on FORMED and free for everyone through Easter. Click HERE to watch.

Good Friday Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Friday, April 3: It is appropriate on this Good Friday (the First Friday of the Month) that we participate in the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Devotion to the Sacred Heart, as given to St. Margaret Mary, VHM (The Apostle of the Devotion to the Sacred Heart), began to grow in popularity soon after she died, but was officially recognized 75 years later. An important part of the First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart is the Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As part of our Salesian tradition, each Oblate consecrates himself and our community to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the First Friday of the Month. As part of our Salesian Family, we invite you to join as a Parish in consecrating yourself, your family, and our Parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and come for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church. Click HERE for the prayer of consecration.
The Season of Easter: Easter time is the 50-day celebration that flows from the Triduum. It is the Church’s most ancient and most beautiful season. These are springtime days of blossoming orchards, of open windows, of the great gladness of the awakening earth. In times past, another word for Easter time was “Pentecost.” Now we use that word to mean the last day of Easter time, but “Pentecost” can mean “fifty days” or “fiftieth day.” The ascension of the Lord and the sending of the Holy Spirit are celebrated on two solemnities of the Season, but they also are celebrated throughout Easter time. We can’t really separate these wonders. The Lord’s incarnation, epiphany, passion, death, burial, resurrection, ascension and the gift of the Spirit are one mystery, called the “Paschal Mystery.”
Operation Rice Bowl: During Holy Week, a basket was placed in the Church vestibule to place your filled Operation Rice Bowl boxes and any other monetary contributions. It will take a lot of coins, dollars, and checks to fill it, but let’s try! We will continue to collect the Rice Bowl returns throughout the Easter Season. Donations may also be made online May Our Mother of Consolation’s Lenten generosity to Operation Rice Bowl deepen our Easter joy and may every parishioner have a full measure of the season’s blessings Click HERE for more information.

OMC Climate Ministry: It’s tempting to start the new year with lists and lists of what we want to accomplish. But Pope Francis has only one goal for us this year: create a culture of care. Such a culture would overcome “indifference, waste and confrontation,” and help all of us deepen our ecological conversion. Below you’ll find two ways to get started on that goal this month by coming together with Catholics around the globe and helping create a world full of “fraternity and solidarity, of mutual support and acceptance.”
- Earth Day - April 22, 2021 - Restore Our Common Home: This year’s Earth Day program theme is “Restore Our Common Home”, a theme that addresses how as people of faith we must urgently act to not only protect but restore God’s beautiful gift of creation. The program contains prayers, readings, discussion questions, a short video, and suggested activities. Click HERE for information.
- Monthly Laudato Si Prayer Services: Join in these Global Prayer Services every first Friday of the month to hear creation’s song, creation’s cry, and creation’s invitation.
