Youth Ministry Monthly Update- October 19, 2022
We are about to have our 6th Sunday gathering of the year this coming week. Teens in 8th-12th grade are welcome to come as they are able and they can jump. Thanks to the generosity of parishioners, parents, and local restaurants (Cosimo's, McNally's, and Chik-fil-a) we have had some delicious meals and most Sundays have been covered. In addition to our Sunday Small groups which focus on building community through sharing a meal and growing in personal faith through Adult mentor led discussions (video based and Bible Study), we have some other events coming up which may appeal to teens who are not interested or ready for the Sunday night gatherings. Specifically we have a Halloween party and a service project coming up in a few weeks. -Paul
Parent Volunteers Needed for our Halloween party. I am looking for 3 parent volunteers to assist with the Halloween party. I am hoping to have the halloween party take place in a few different areas of the parish (parish Hall, parish office, and outdoor fire pit) and I will need three chaperones to make sure if all areas are covered. If I can't find enough chaperones then I may need to adjust the activities. At least 1 chaperone is needed for the event to happen. (Safe Environment Clearances are need)

Upcoming Events Box of Joy Service Project Sunday Nov 6th 6:00-8:00pm On Sunday November 6th we will be filling Boxes of Joy. Our overall goal for the year is 200 boxes. While the boxes are small, we will need a combined effort of our teens, the broader parish, and the parish school to meet this goal. We would like each box to include a card and a variety of gifts (hygiene items, toys, clothes, school supplies). Ideally we would also be able to cover as much as the transportation costs for the boxes as well. The recommended donation for each box is $9. If anyone has a connection to a country club and could reach out to have old tennis balls donated that would be very helpful! I am also looking for families with trucks or large vans to help deliver the boxes the week of November 6th. |

Camp Veritas August 12th-17th
Mark your calendars for Camp Veritas August 12th-17th for high school students going into 10th, 11th, and 12th. Cost $500 plus transportation costs. Registration will begin in the 2023.
Sunday Night Small Groups- Each week 6:00-8:00
For the first few months the Sunday gatherings will focus on discipleship. What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? What do disciples do? How can I grow as a disciple? Each week there is a Bible study and a video discussion. The teens split up into two groups for the different discussions. To keep it simple to track who is in the Bible study and who is in the video discussion each week we are breaking up by gender. This allows there to still be a mix of schools and ages. After Thanksgiving we will break up into coed groups for Advent and for the start of 2023.
Dinner is at 6 each week. Sign up here to provide part of a meal.
Please note there will be no small group discussion on Oct 30th or Nov 6th due to our Halloween party and service project.
NCYC - Nov 19th at Immaculata University open to 8th-12th grade Registration closes by Nov. 1st.
