Youth Ministry Monthly Update- April 26, 2021
Happy Easter and welcome to all of the new members who were recently confirmed in our faith! After a busy few months in February and March we have slowed down in April. April and May are more preparatory in nature as we gear up for summer. A summer schedule as been created based on the input of some of our teens. There will a variety of opportunities for teens to serve our community, participate in the sacraments, build community, and grow spiritually. I am sure the teens will be busy this summer with camps, vacation, sports, college prep, summer jobs, and the many other things they are involved in. My hope is that they will be able to participate in at least some of the spiritual activities we offer. Summer is also a great time for parents to see what teen ministry is all about. Please consider volunteering to help chaperone at least once this summer and please let me know if you know any young adults or empty nesters who may be interested in giving more of their time. I pray you continue to enjoy this Easter season. God Bless. -Paul
Easter Family Event- Due to the weather we had to adapt our Easter event. The teens assembled to go bags which were handed out after the 9:00AM mass and then we had a small Easter egg hunt following the 11:00AM.
Walking Stations of the Cross-
Thank you for all of the families that joined us for walking station of the cross. It was wonderful to publicly witness our faith on Good Friday. We appreciate the teens that joined us as well.
First Friday Adoration May 7th 5:00-8:30PM - With sports and activities returning we are going to adapt our First Friday gathering. We ask that teens that come attend either adoration and evening prayer or stay until night prayer. The time of prayer is a great way to end the week as we enter into our weekend. Parents are welcome to the prayer services as well. Here is the schedule:
Teen Leadership Planning Meeting- Wednesday May 12th 7:00 PM. There are four teens who have responded to the invitation to join the teen leadership team. There will be a planning meeting to create the schedule for the next school year. Current sophomores and Juniors are still able to join the team. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org before the planning meeting if you would like to join.
