On May 14, 2010, at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul two of our volunteers were recognized for their commitment to our CYO Program.:

Joey McDermott received the Bill O’Neill Award sponsored by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Athletic Ministry Department. This National award is given in honor of Bill O'Neill and is presented to adults who are involved in athletic ministry and who exemplify the best attributes of ministry and Catholic teaching to youth. Joey was honored for her numerous years of dedicated service to CYO. Initially, Joey started volunteering 19 years ago with the intramural soccer program, moved into the capacity of Assistant Athletic Director and for the past 12 years acted as both the commissioner and coach in the coed volleyball program. Joey, together with her husband, Brad, also a committed CYO volunteer, are parents of OMC Parish School graduates: Brendan, John and Megan.

Gene Mulligan was a recipient of the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry’s The Companions on the Journey award which is presented to adults involved in youth ministry who exemplify the best attributes of ministry and Catholic teaching to youth. Gene received this award for his leadership and longstanding commitment to our parish CYO Program. Gene and his wife, Mary, are the parents of current OMC Parish School Students: Michael, Kyle, Riley and Moria.
